COMUNICADO DE\u00a0M\u00c9XICO\u00a0VIA BERL\u00cdN<\/strong> EN RELACI\u00d3N A LA CARAVANA POR LA PAZ A U.S.A<\/span><\/strong> DEL MOVIMIENTO POR LA PAZ CON JUSTICIA Y DIGNIDAD<\/h2>\n

\u00a1Otra vez una Caravana!<\/p>\n

\u00a1Otra vez los del Movimiento por la Paz con Justicia y Dignidad!<\/p>\n

Esa es la expresi\u00f3n \u2013acompa\u00f1ada\u00a0 de una sutil mueca de molestia- la que debe hacer el gobierno mexicano cada vez que Javier Sicilia y el Movimiento por la Paz con Justicia y Dignidad deciden quemar las naves, prender los motores y salir a carretera en busca de gente que los quiera escuchar. Ya fueron hasta Ciudad Ju\u00e1rez hace un a\u00f1o, Caravana que los mexicanos alrededor del mundo saludamos en copiosas manifestaciones que dieron lugar a la \u201cRed Global por la Paz en M\u00e9xico\u201d[1]<\/a> que logr\u00f3 articular a m\u00e1s de dos decenas de ciudades que desde el extranjero se sumaron al Pacto Nacional[2]<\/a>. En Berl\u00edn mostramos nuestra solidaridad con una manifestaci\u00f3n en Alexander Platz[3]<\/a>. En septiembre de 2011, la Caravana viajo nuevamente, en aquella ocasi\u00f3n al sur del pa\u00eds.\u00a0 En aquellos d\u00edas y noches de camino, el Movimiento llev\u00f3 consuelo a quienes los esperaban.\u00a0 En ambas caravanas fueron a escuchar a los familiares de las v\u00edctimas (que son, nunca hay que olvidarlo, v\u00edctimas por s\u00ed solas<\/em>) de la absurda guerra de Calder\u00f3n.<\/p>\n

La voz de las v\u00edctimas unidas con el apoyo de la gente, movimientos y organizaciones solidarias lograron forjar acuerdos. Uno de ellos qued\u00f3 plasmado en los resolutivos de las nueve mesas que se celebraron en junio en Ciudad Ju\u00e1rez[4]<\/a> y que agrup\u00f3 a cientos de organizaciones. El segundo, refiere a los Di\u00e1logos de Chapultepec. No han sido, sin embargo, meses f\u00e1ciles para el Movimiento por la Paz con Justicia y Dignidad. Por un lado, desde Los Pinos han cerrado las puertas a una posible Ley de V\u00edctimas[5]<\/a> que devuelva algo de lo perdido a quienes ya perdieron todo menos su dignidad. Por otro lado, los medios de comunicaci\u00f3n prefirieron extraviarse en lo ef\u00edmero de las campa\u00f1as electorales.<\/p>\n

El Movimiento, sin embargo, en la soledad obligada pero con la templanza ganada, no s\u00f3lo sigui\u00f3 avanzando gracias a una serie de proyectos que giraron alrededor de \u00e9l[6]<\/a>, sino que avanz\u00f3 a un entendimiento mucho m\u00e1s amplio del problema que tiene como resultante la Caravana por la Paz a Estados Unidos. A saber, la certeza de que los problemas que aquejan a nuestro pa\u00eds son, en gran parte, consecuencia de\u00a0 relaciones \u2013pol\u00edticas, sociales, econ\u00f3micas\u2013 trasnacionales muy puntuales con los Estados Unidos y el resto del mundo. <\/strong>El mejor ejemplo de ello, pero no el \u00fanico, es la venta de armas que, vendidas en los Estados Unidos, llegan a M\u00e9xico de forma ilegal. Esas armas matan, cruzan fronteras pero tambi\u00e9n tienen responsables. Y esos no viven en Ju\u00e1rez, Creel o Villa de Salvacar.<\/p>\n

El objetivo <\/strong>de la Caravana es claro:<\/p>\n

\u201cTeniendo como centro a las v\u00edctimas de la guerra en ambos lados de la frontera, la Caravana busca encontrarse con la sociedad civil estadounidense para que por medio del di\u00e1logo y acciones pac\u00edficas generar propuestas para cortar el flujo de armas ilegales a M\u00e9xico; apoyar alternativas humanas y de salud respecto a la prohibici\u00f3n de drogas; y demandar estrategias \u00a0de seguridad \u00a0efectivas y no violentas. El respeto binacional por la justicia y dignidad humana es el coraz\u00f3n de esta iniciativa, buscando una pol\u00edtica humana de migraci\u00f3n una preocupaci\u00f3n central de la Caravana[7]<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Muchos de nosotros no podemos participar en la Caravana. Sin embargo, hay mucho que podemos hacer para que el esfuerzo de los cientos de activistas que recorrer\u00e1n casi diez mil kil\u00f3metros y veinte ciudades distintas (V\u00e9ase el mapa anexo) no sea en vano.<\/p>\n

-Investiga la posici\u00f3n del gobierno del pa\u00eds donde vives con respecto al problema de la violencia en M\u00e9xico; busca a los medios locales y presiona para dar a conocer al mundo lo que sucede en M\u00e9xico. \u00a1Organ\u00edzate o busca a los grupos ya establecidos! <\/strong><\/p>\n

M\u00e9xico v\u00eda Berlin support statement for the \u201cCaravan for Peace in the USA\u201d Led by the Movement for a Peace with Justice and Dignity<\/h2>\n

A Caravan Again!<\/p>\n

Again the Movement for a Peace with Justice and Dignity!<\/p>\n

That might be the expression\u2014accompanied by a subtle grimace of discomfort\u2014assaulting Mexican government’s faces every time Javier Sicilia and the Movement for a Peace with Justice and Dignity decide to start their engines and take the highways searching for ears for their claims.<\/p>\n

A year ago, the Movement already set out a Caravan towards Ciudad Juarez\u2014what Mexicans all over the world saluted with copious demonstrations that gave birth to the \u201cGlobal Net for Peace in Mexico\u201d managed to unite more than 20 cities for supporting the National Pact from abroad[8]<\/a>. In Berlin, we showed our solidarity to the Caravan with a Demonstration in Alexsanderplatz[9]<\/a>. During September 2011, the Caravan travelled again, this time to the south part of the country. During days and nights of walking, the Movement brought comfort to those who were waiting for consolation. In both Caravans, the Movement listened to the relatives of the victims\u2014who are indeed victims themselves\u2014of this absurd war led by President Calder\u00f3n.<\/p>\n

The voice of the victims united with the people and the support of social movements and organizations allowed building key compromises. Remarkable are the National Pact for Peace with Justice and Dignity\u2014product of the resolutions of the nine working groups of a convention held in June 2011 in Ciudad Juarez[10]<\/a>, which brought together hundreds of organizations\u2014on the one hand; and the Chapultepec Dialogs, on the other. There have been, nevertheless, no easy times for the Movement. First of all because the federal Executive has closed the door to the Victims Act\u2014which could have effectively restored the damage to those that have lost everything except their dignity\u2014in the terms agreed at the Chapultepec Dialogs[11]<\/a>. In second place it is a fact that during the last months the media privileged the ephemeral electoral agenda over the social contestation against militarization and the victims of Calder\u00f3n\u2019s War.<\/p>\n

The Movement however\u2014despite an obliged loneliness on their back but with a well gained temperance\u2014managed to advance the cause of the victims corking hand by hand with other movements and groups[12]<\/a>; achieved to build a solidarity platform for supporting them directly; and moreover, accomplished a broader and deeper understanding of the War in Mexico. The Caravan for Peace to the USA stands as the best example of this new understanding, n<\/strong>amely the certainty that the problems of our country are, to a big extent, consequence of particular political, social, and economic transactional relations with the United States and the rest of the world. The best example, but not the only, is the trade of weapons; arms that, after being sold in the United States, arrive to Mexico illegally. Guns that kill, guns that cross the border, but that also call for responsibility:\u00a0 A responsibility that points at those who do not live neither in Ciudad Ju\u00e1rez, nor in the cities Creel or Villa de Salvacar.<\/p>\n

In that regard, the aim<\/strong> of the Caravan is clear:<\/p>\n

\u201cLing the war victims on both sides of the border, the Caravan seeks to meet the US American civil society to address together several issues through dialogue and pacific actions. These include strategies to cut the flow of illegal guns to Mexico; the support of human and health alternatives regarding the drugs prohibition; and demanding effective non-violent security strategies. The bi-national respect for justice and human dignity lies at the heart of this initiative and to seek for a human migration policy is a central concern of the Caravan\u201d<\/p>\n

Many of us cannot participate in the Caravan. There is however much that can be done, so that the efforts of hundreds of activists, who will travel almost ten thousand kilometres and visit 20 different cities (see attached map), will not be in vain.<\/p>\n
